<p>Mobile items may be automatically assoiciated with each other and the association recorded. In one embodiment of the invention, a wireless transmitter transmits a near field signal. A wireless receiver receives the transmitted near field signal from the wireless transmitter and determines, based on trhe received near field signal, whether the transmitter is close to the receiver, and a communications interface, coupled to the wireless receiver and to a recordkeeping system, transmits a record to the recordkeeping system, the record indicating that the wireless transmitter has been close to the wireless receiver.</p> |
