METHOD OF TREATING ESTABLISHED COLITIS USING ANTIBODY AGAINST IL-12

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment for an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and a method of screening a substance inhibiting the colitis-inducing effect of interleukin-12 (IL-12). SOLUTION: The method is for treating the inflammatory response of an established colitis in a subject with an inflammatory bowel disease, and comprises administering to the subject diagnosed as an established colitis an amount of an antibody to interleukin-12 effective in reducing the colitis inducing effect of interleukin-12.
