PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the turbulence of sewing caused by dispersion in feeding pitch. SOLUTION: A sewing machine 10 is equipped with a mechanism vertically moving a needle, a presser foot body mounted on the lower edge of a presser bar, a presser frame for retaining a matter to be sewn, a detecting means 24 for detecting feed per revolution along the feed direction of the presser frame with respect to the presser foot body, a feed mechanism having a feed dog and a feed motor 48, a storage means 32 for storing the necessary minimum standard feed per revolution by the feed mechanism for every or a predetermined needle number, a judgment means 3 for judging whether or not the feed per revolution detected by the detecting means is less than the standard feed stored by the storage means, a drive stopping means 3 for stopping the drive of a sewing machine motor 44 and the feed motor when the judgment means judges that the feed per revolution is less than the standard feed per revolution, and an information means 60 which informs that the feed per revolution is not sufficient when the drive stopping means stops driving the sewing machine motor and the feed motor.
