<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell capable of improving power generation performance, and to provide a manufacturing method of the fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell is equipped with a structural body having an anode and a cathode as well as an electrolyte membrane arranged and installed between the anode and the cathode, with a first separator arranged and installed on the anode side of the structural body, and with a second separator arranged and installed on the cathode side of the structural body. In the fuel cell, a dense part containing a carbon-containing material is provided in the first separator and/or the second separator, at least one part of the dense part is arranged on the structural body side surface of the first separator and/or the second separator, and a water electrolysis catalyst is provided at least on the surface of the dense part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
