PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a branch pipe mounting unit capable of mounting a piston at an appropriate position in attaching it to a body, and surely branching a pipe by preventing the piston after the attachment from being naturally displaced, and ensuring predetermined pressure in explosive detonation in branching work. SOLUTION: In this branch pipe mounting unit, the piston 20 is incorporated in an opening 14 of a saddle-shaped body 11 mounted to the outer periphery of a pipe 1, the opening 14 is covered with a cap 30 filled with an explosive 35 or the like, and the piston 20 is driven by the explosion pressure of the explosive 35 to bore a part of the pipe 1 by a cutting blade 21 of the piston 20. The branch pipe mounting unit is constituted so that an air vent means is arranged in an internally sealed region T between the piston 20 and the cap 30 sealed through an O-ring 23 mounted between the body 11 and the piston 20 to prevent a push-out phenomenon of the piston 20 when covered with the cap 30.
