<p>Disclosed is a light-receiving device (1) comprising a semiconductor substrate (101), a light-receiving layer arranged on the semiconductor substrate (101), and a filter layer (103) arranged between the semiconductor substrate (101) and the light-receiving layer for absorbing light other than receiving signal light. In this light-receiving device (1), a first mesa (11) serving as the light-receiving layer is surrounded by a third mesa (13) which absorbs at least light other than receiving signal light. Consequently, even when the filter layer (103) is too thin to sufficiently absorb light other than receiving signal light, the light other than receiving signal light is absorbed by the third mesa (13), thereby being adequately prevented from reaching the first mesa (11).</p> |
