<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assign points to a shopping bag needed to store commodities purchased by a customer. <P>SOLUTION: A POS terminal 10 acquires data for the size of a sales commodity based on commodity data read from a bar code 5 through a scanner 30, and based on this data, shopping bag data necessary for storing commodities sold by one transaction is converted to points corresponding to the shopping bag.
