PROCESS FOR SEPARATING HYDROXYL BENZOIC ACID ISOMERS BY USING HYDROTALCITE

A process for separating hydroxyl benzoic acid isomers by using hydrotalcite, which comprises the following steps: a. dissolving the mixture of hydroxyl benzoic acid isomers in water to obtain solution a; b. adding hydrotalcite to the solution a and contacting the mixture of hydroxyl benzoic acid isomers with hydrotalcite for 8-12 hours with agitating at the temperature of 70-100°C under inert gas, and separating the solid product from the liquid product; c. recovering the liquid product obtained in step b and deadsorbing the solid product to obtain separated hydroxyl benzoic acid isomers. The advantage of the present process lies in simple process and low cost and the process is easily conducted. The result of the separation of isomers can be accurately charaterized by using high performance liquid chromatography.
