<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lamp unit of a vehicle headlamp capable of achieving effective utilization of light from an LED. <P>SOLUTION: A first reflecting surface M1 which has a paraboloid as a main feature with the LED 5 as a focus is formed on a reflector 4, and an outgoing optical axis X of the LED 5 is arranged facing this first reflecting surface M1 side, thereby, direct radiation light with much light volume near the outgoing optical axis X of the LED 5 is guided directly to the first reflecting surface M1 and can be irradiated to the front of the vehicle as a reflection light S1 of single reflection from the first reflecting surface M1. Since the light is irradiated to the front of the vehicle as a single reflection only, it can be irradiated to the vehicle front side with attenuation of light of the LED 5 in suppressed state, and the light from the LED 5 can be utilized effectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
