<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus for generating a flexible folder hierarchical structure according to the size of a window or the number of folders to be displayed when the inside of the folder hierarchical structure is operated and to provide a control method of the information processing apparatus, and a program. <P>SOLUTION: The number of folders to be displayed on a lower hierarchy of a folder to be opened is determined on the basis of the number of folders being displayed in a display picture at present, the number of folders included in the lower hierarchy of the folder to be opened and the height of a window on which a plurality of folders are displayed.
