PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suspension cross member structure of an automobile having superior maintenance work efficiency of a power unit or the like and capable of ensuring the rigidity. SOLUTION: A suspension cross member 10 comprises a front cross member 11 having a front fitting part 33 and a first supporting part 32 to be fitted to and supported by right and left front side frames 1 on each end of a front cross member body 11A extending in the vehicle width direction, and a rear cross member 41 having a second supporting part 45 to be separably fastened to the first supporting part 32 on each end of a rear cross member body 41A extending in the vehicle width direction behind an automobile body from the front cross member body 11A. The rigidity of the suspension cross member 10 can be ensured by the front cross member 11 and the rear cross member 41, a sufficient working space can be ensured on the back side of the front cross member 11 by separating the rear cross member 41, and the maintenance work efficiency is enhanced thereby.
