GENE POLYMORPHISMS AS SEX-SPECIFIC PREDICTORS IN CANCER THERAPY

The invention provides compositions and methods for determining the likel ihood of gender-specific successful treatment with 5-FU/oxaliplatin or an eq uivalent of each thereof. The methods comprise determining the genomic polym orphism present in a predetermined region of a gene of interest and correlat ing the polymorphism to the predictive response. Patients identified as resp onsive are then treated with the appropriate therapy.
