摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To complete a purge of an unpurified component and moisture from an adsorbent in a short time, in an exhaust emission control device of an internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device has: a main exhaust passage 14 flowing exhaust gas exhausted from the internal combustion engine 10; a second bypass passage 20 bypassing the main exhaust passage 14 on the downstream side of a catalyst 16; a moisture adsorbent 32 and an NOx adsorbent 34 in this order from the upstream side in the second bypass passage 20; a second return passage 36 branching off from the second bypass passage 20 and connected to an intake passage 12; and a second switching valve 30 switching a form of a flow passage of the exhaust gas passed through the catalyst 16. After performing adsorbing operation of NOx (see, Fig. 2(A)), first purge operation (see, Fig. 2(B)) is performed for purging NOx and moisture to the intake passage 12. After completing the first purge operation, second purge operation (see, Fig. 2(A)) is performed for purging moisture to the downstream side of the main exhaust passage 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
