PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a rear receiving type light receiving element applicable to an optical waveguide type module, and to reduce light transmission loss from emission from an optical waveguide to a light receiving element. SOLUTION: At one end of an optical waveguide substrate 1, there are a filter joining face 22 in which the end face of the core 3 of an optical waveguide 2 is exposed and a wiring substrate bonding face 23 which is situated at a position bulged outer side from the filter joining face 22. On the filter bonding face 22, a filter film 28 is directly formed. On the wiring substrate bonding face 23, a wiring substrate 7 is fixed so that the light incident face (a face opposite from the light receiving region 11) of the rear receiving type light receiving element 10 mounted on the wiring substrate 7 opposes the core 3 of the optical waveguide 2. Between the optical waveguide substrate 1 and the light receiving element 10, the base material 5 of the wiring substrate 7 is uninterposed, as are a resin 14 for bonding the optical waveguide substrate 1 with the wiring substrate 7 and a resin 9 for bonding a filter; therefore, light transmission loss can be reduced.
