PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slide plate for a balance weight of a cold pilger mill, which vertically reciprocates at a high speed by rotating a crankshaft while supporting such a high load as 72 N/mm<SP>2</SP>, which is used under the circumstances of being always lubricated with oil, and which has excellent wear resistance. SOLUTION: A base material 3a of a slide plate 3 for a balance weight, which is made of steel, has a surface roughness Ra of 3.2-6.3μm, which is defined in JIS B 0601. A tungsten carbide alloy sprayed film 3b, which has a thickness of 200-250μm and a surface hardness of HV 1,000-1,200, is formed on the surface of the slide plate 3. Thus, the slide plate 3 for a balance weight of a cold pilger mill has a sliding face comprising the film 3b and has excellent wear resistance. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
