The combustion chamber (10) with a combustion space (14) and a resonator unit (21) which comprises one or more resonators (22) and serves for adjusting the acoustic characteristic of the combustion chamber, has at least one resonator which by an overtone is matched to an eigenmode. The matching is achieved by adjustment of the geometric dimensions of a resonance chamber of the at least one resonator which may be a Lambda quarter-wave resonator or a Helmholtz resonator. An independent claim is included for a method of adjusting the acoustic characteristic of a combustion chamber by application of the proposed invention.
