<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gripper feeder which can realize a feeding frequency similar to that of a roller feeder. <P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to a device for intermittently feeding a band-shaped or wire-shaped semifinished product (22) to a press. The device comprises a pair of mobile grippers (4, 7) which moves forward and backward during feeding, a pair of clamping grippers (24, 27) which hold and fix the semifinished product (22) and do not move at a non-feed stage, and a control rocker (12) equipped with rocker drives (40, 42, 42a, 44 and 45) which are connected to one control end of the control rocker (12).
