<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight unit with an improved heat radiating property. <P>SOLUTION: The backlight unit is provided with a flexible substrate 200 with a light source 201, a light guide body 100 having an end surface facing a light emitting surface of the light source 201 and a case 300 having a concave portion housing all the above, and the flexible substrate 200 is bent and placed in the concave portion of the case 300. Especially, the flexible substrate 200 has a side end portion 202 where the light source 201 is placed and an extended portion 203 which is extended alongside a bottom surface of the concave portion. The side end portion 202 or the extended portion 203 is placed on an inside surface 301 and a bottom surface 302 of the case respectively, direct or through a thermal conductive member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
