PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus further accurately reproducing current zoom magnification, at the next power-on. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is equipped with a zoom lens 11, a CCD image sensor 12, a power source 21, a power source controller 20, a controller 15 and a flash memory 17. If a zoom magnification storing function is set by the controller 15 when the power source controller 20 starts the control to turn off the power, the controller 15 does not update a zoom memory if a zoom magnification changing operation means does not accept operation for changing zoom magnification at any time until the power source controller 20 starts the control to turn off the power after the power source 21 is turned ON.
