<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease capacity of a memory used for adjusting a difference between an operation frequency of information equipment and a frequency in serial transfer, and to reduce time and effort necessary for timing design. <P>SOLUTION: In a data transfer system, addition data with the number of bits according to a frequency difference between a first synchronizing signal for operation control and a second synchronizing signal for data transfer is added to transmission objective data by a transmission side device. The transmission objective data is converted to serial data and transmitted. In a receive side device, a receiving interface unit receives data transmitted from the transmission side device, and after the frame width of the received data is changed according to the number of bits of the addition data, the transmission objective data is separated from the received data.
