<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve user's operability or operation safety by deciding whether a distance lies within a stable and proper distance range or not in an ordinary use environment and easily meeting the use environment without consciousness even when the use environment is changed. <P>SOLUTION: An authentication apparatus comprises: a distance detection means 106 for detecting the distance to a small-sized mobile device 40 from the signal level or error rate of radio communication; a determination means 109 for determining whether the distance lies within a predetermined range or not from the distance detection means 106; an individual setting means 1091 for arbitrarily setting a plurality of threshold values within the predetermined range of the determination means 109; and a switching means 1092 for switching the threshold value of the determination means 109 between a fixed value and the set value set by the individual setting means 1091, wherein threshold values within a plurality of action ranges are held and switched by the individual setting means 1091, and the distances within the predetermined range are accurately recognized, even when there is the effect of reflection or the like in a residential space. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
