A method for removing bad smell from the culture fluid of photosynthetic bacteria is provided to improve suitability for a medicine for external use, so that the culture fluid of photosynthetic bacteria is useful for inhibiting growth of bacteria, and improving skin beauty. The bad smell of the culture fluid of a photosynthetic bacterium selected from Rhodopseudomonas capsulate, Rhodopseudomonas sphaeroides and Rhodospirillum rubrum is removed by distilling or circulating the culture fluid under reduced pressure. A medicine for external use comprises the deodorized culture fluid of photosynthetic bacteria and is respiratory disease-treating agent, skin disease-treating agent or cosmetics. Further, a concentration of the bacterium is 1x10^4 to 1x10^9 cells/ml.
