A broadcasting receiver and a method for outputting an image and an audio thereof are provided to enable a user to select one of the broadcasting image signal of the broadcasting receiver and the external image signals of plural external devices, and select one of the broadcasting audio signal of the broadcasting receiver and the external audio signals of the plural external devices, thereby enabling the user to enjoy the selected image/audio signals on the broadcasting receiver. A broadcasting receiver includes an image signal switching unit(312), an audio signal switching unit(314), a control unit(316), and an image/audio signal processing unit(318). The image signal switching unit selectively outputs one of plural image signals received through a tuner unit and an external device connecting unit according to a first input switching control signal. The audio signal switching unit selectively outputs one of plural audio signals received through the tuner unit and the external device connecting unit according to a second input switching control signal. The control unit generates the first and second switching signals for the image signal switching unit and the audio signal switching unit to output selected image and audio signals respectively when the image signal and the audio signal are selected. The image/audio signal processing unit processes the image signal and the audio signal outputted in the image signal switching unit and the audio signal switching unit to output the image signal and the audio signal to an image/audio output unit(320).
