RAILWAY VEHICLE BODY STRUCTURE

A railway vehicle body structure is provided to remove necessity of increasing the thickness of an inner plate of a railway vehicle to prevent increase in weight of the structure. A railway vehicle body structure includes a side structure. The side structure includes two plates, and a plurality of ribs(16). The two plates are constituted by an outer plate(8) and an inner plate(9). An entrance(6) is formed at the side structure. The outer plate and the inner plate are directly coupled to each other through welding or friction-stirring coupling. The side structure is coupled to a frame(7) via an L-shaped metal fixture(10). The L-shaped metal fixture has an L-shaped cross-section at a position crossing a periphery of an aperture of the side structure.
