The flap for a cable passage, at a desk top and other furniture, can be opened at a number of sides with preferably a rectangular contour lying flush with the desk top. Magnets are fitted to the flap corners, with cup-shaped surfaces sliding on steel balls at a carrier frame in the desk top opening. The hinges can be sprung balls or snap bolts and the like. The flap can be swung open by >= 90[deg] to lie open against a limit stop or be held by friction in an opened position.
