PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine control device for a vehicle allowing the smooth travel of the vehicle while reducing an occupant's burden, economizing fuel and improving exhaust emission by setting a specific position on a route to travel thereafter as an automatic stop inhibited position of an engine. SOLUTION: This engine control device is provided with a position detecting means 21c for detecting the position of the vehicle; a storage means 41 storing automatic stop position information including an automatic stop execution position detected by the position detecting means at a point of time when at least the engine is automatically stopped, and a position on a map corresponding to the automatic stop execution position; a display control means 2 for displaying the automatic stop position information on a display screen 21a; and a condition adding means for selecting at least one of the automatic stop execution positions displayed on the display screen 21a and setting the selected automatic stop execution position as the position of inhibiting the automatic stop of the engine.
