A shifting circuit of a semiconductor device is provided to enable a corresponding registering stage generating a wanted output signal and to disable a next registering stage. A number of registering stages(20,21,22) shift an input signal in response to a clock signal. A number of output units(23,24,25,26) output one output signal of the registering stages selectively in response to an output selection signal corresponding to each registering stage. Each registering stage controls toggling of the output signal in response to an output selection signal corresponding to a prior registering stage. A number of precharging units(NM1,NM2,NM3) precharge an output stage of the corresponding registering stage in response to an output selection signal corresponding to the prior registering stage.
