A printing method and a device for printing a DPOF(Digital Print Order Format) file are provided to prevent duplicated printing and remove resetting for canceling a finished printing job by printing the DPOF file according to a job included in a script of the DPOF file, and removing the finished job from the script of the DPOF file after the job is finished. A DPOF file searcher(600) searches whether a script is found in a DPOF file. A printing processor(630) performs printing according to a job of the script of the DPOF file when the script is found in the DPOF file. A script modifier(640) removes the finished job from the script of the DPOF file when the printing is finished. A message display unit(610) displays a message requesting determination for deleting the finished job after the printing is performed according to the job of the script of the DPOF file. The script modifier removes the finished job from the script of the DPOF file when the determination for deleting the finished job after the printing is received. A script analyzer(620) analyzes the working contents in a script of the DPOF file by working unit without being influenced by a control command from the message display unit.
