A multifunctional microphone for performing a singing room effect in a car is provided to improve sound quality inside the car by suppressing howling using a directional microphone and a howling suppresser. A microphone input portion(10) inputs a voice signal from a microphone(11) and has howling suppressing and echo controlling functions. A line input portion(20) includes an external line input terminal(21) and receives audio signals from external devices. A mixer portion(30) mixes the voice signal from the microphone input portion with the audio signals from the line input portion. A film transmitter(50) modulates the output signal from the mixer portion to an FM(Frequency Modulation) radio signal. A line output portion(60) outputs the output signal from the mixer portion through a line output terminal. A switch portion includes a microphone input on/off switch, a howling and echo on/off switch, a volume switch, an FMT(Frequency Modulation Transmission) on/off signal, and an FMT frequency selecting switch. A controller(40) controls the components based on manipulation signals from the switch portion.
