<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply power to a backplane without increasing the size and cost of the backplane. <P>SOLUTION: In a computer system conforming to a compact PCI standard, having a backplane 2 mounted on the back face of a 6U board 1, to connect a rear I/O board 3 on the back face of the above backplane with shroud, the rear I/O board is mounted with a power supply connector 3A on the back face thereof. An external supply unit 4 connecting a power supply connector 4A connectable to the above supply connector with a cable 4B supplies power to the backplane via the rear I/O board. With regard to the connector connection for supplying the power between the backplane and the rear I/O board, an idle slot connector among the connectors to which user-defined I/O is assigned and not connected to a bus is assigned as a supply connector. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
