PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molecular device used for achieving a multi-value switch and a logic device rewritable in various ways by controlling the direction of a metal-containing fullerene. SOLUTION: The molecular device 10 includes a first electrode 2 and a first self-organized monomolecular membrane 4 disposed on the first electrode 2, a second electrode 3 and a second self-organized monomolecular membrane 5 disposed on the second electrode 3, and the metal-containing fullerene 6 disposed between the first and second self-organized monomolecular membranes 4 and 5. In the molecular device, a first tunnel junction 8 is formed between the metal-containing fullerene 6 and the first electrode 2 via the first self-organized monomolecular membrane 4 and a second tunnel junction 9 is formed between the metal-containing fullerene 6 and the second electrode 3 via the second self-organized monomolecular membrane 5, and the direction of a bi-polar moment of the metal-containing fullerene 6 is controlled by an electric field to be applied to the metal-containing fullerene 6.
