PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing method of a sludge concentration apparatus capable of spraying washing water on the inner surface of a filter cylinder if necessary without disassembling the sludge concentration apparatus to effectively wash the inner surface of the filter cylinder. SOLUTION: In the washing method of the sludge concentration apparatus, which concentrates sludge, for passing the moisture contained in the sludge introduced into the filter cylinder 3 from a sludge flocculation tank 11 through the filtering surface 3a of the filter cylinder 3 while feeding the sludge by rotationally driving a spiral screw 4 in the filter cylinder 3 to discharge the same to the outside of the filter cylinder 3 as a separated liquid. In the case where the stain of the filter cylinder 3 is not removed by a steady washing method, the operation of the apparatus is stopped to discharge the separated liquid from an outer cylinder 2, and washing water is ejected from a plurality of the spray nozzles 17 formed to the hollow rotary shaft 4a of the spiral screw 4 after the sludge is discharged from the filter cylinder 3 while rotating the spiral screw 4 so as to cover the whole inner peripheral surface of the filter cylinder 3 to wash the whole peripheral surface of the filter cylinder 3.
