<p>A method and a system of handover in a wireless communication system are provided to perform the handover into a heterogeneous network by updating base station information of the heterogeneous networks periodically. A Wibro(Wireless Broadband Internet) system(300) comprises a portable device(100), a plurality RAS(Radio Access Stations)(310,330), and ACR(Access Control Router)(350) and a CN(Core Network)(400). Each ARC is positioned between the CN and RAS, performs a CS(Convergence Sub layer) function, an ARQ(Automatically Request) function and a handover control function, and offers an interface for the CN. The CN recognizes position information about the heterogeneous networks of peripheral regions, and relays connection related information needed to the handover into the Wibro system. Each RAS is positioned between the portable devices, and provides a wireless connection interface on the basis of IEEE 802.16 specifications.</p> |
