A plasma display panel and a method for driving the same are provided to prevent increase of a discharge voltage by improving a structure of the plasma display panel. A scan electrode(112) and a sustain electrode(113) are arranged in parallel with a line each other. An address electrode(116) being intersected with the scan electrode and the sustain electrode, is arranged on a front substrate(111). A rear substrate(121) is arranged to be opposite to the front substrate. A barrier rib(122) divides discharge cells between the front substrate and the rear substrate. An auxiliary electrode is formed on an upper portion of the address electrode. The auxiliary electrode is located between an extended line at an end of the scan electrode and an extended line at an end of the sustain electrode in the discharge cell. A width of the address electrode is more than 50 mum and less than 70 mum. A thickness of the auxiliary electrode is identical to that of the address electrode.
