<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element, an optical module holder comprising it, an optical module, and an optical connector, capable of coping with high speed communication, reducing the number of parts and costs, and improving the optical characteristics and ease of manufacturing. <P>SOLUTION: This optical element has a surface 21 to pass the light emitted and entering from a predetermined position by refracting, and a reflecting surface 22 to turn back the light emitted and entering from a predetermined position into another direction.
