The present invention relates to an emergency light element (NLE) which is used for actuating fluorescent lamps (LA), in case of mains breakdown, through a battery voltage source (Ubatt) that can be supplied with AC voltage from the mains (UN). A digital electronic wattage power regulator (EVG) mounted upstream from the fluorescent lamp (LA) switches on said fluorescent lamp (LA) and is capable of processing both an AC and a DC voltage at the input thereof. According to this invention, the emergency light element is mounted upstream from the digital electronic wattage power regulator (EVG), wherein in said emergency light element (NLE), the DC voltage from the chargeable battery voltage source (Ubatt) is converted through a DC-DC converter (DC1/DC2) into a higher DC voltage (DC2). A mains monitoring unit is used for actuating switching contacts (S1, S2) so that, in case of a mains AC voltage, the output of the digital electronic wattage power regulator (EVG) is controlled by the network (UN) AC voltage and so that, in case of a mains breakdown, the emergency light element (NLE) supplies the DC voltage to the digital electronic wattage power regulator (EVG).
|
