<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To master the smooth operation of an apparatus in a short period of time by allowing a user to understand the connection of information between high-order menus and low-order menus in a short period of time and to memorize the respective low-order menus included in the high-order menus in a short time. <P>SOLUTION: When the stop of focus for not less than a prescribed time is detected, the low-order menus included in the high-order menus with the focus stopped therein are displayed by popup. In this case, popup display is performed in a state where the respective low-order menus are classified by each prescribed group. When all low-order menus cannot be displayed at a time, the number of displayable low-order menus is displayed by popup successively from the low-order menus of the first group, and also the respective low-order menus are successively displayed by scrolling at prescribed time interval. Thus, the user easily understands the connection of information between the high-order menus and the low-order menus in a short period of time, and easily memorizes the respective low-order menus included in the high-order menus in a short period of time.
