PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blade drive device for a camera which is thinned. SOLUTION: The blade drive device for a camera includes: a substrate 50 having an aperture 51; a blade 70 opening/closing the aperture 51; and an electromagnetic actuator that is the drive source of the blade 70. The electromagnetic actuator includes: an exciting coil 40; a rotor 20 magnetized to have a plurality of magnetic poles in a circumferential direction; a shaft 52 for turnably supporting the rotor 20; and a stator 10 for generating magnetic force for the rotor 20 by energizing the exciting coil 40. The rotor 20 has: an arm part 31 extending to the outside from the center of turning; and a pin part 32 engaged with the blade 70 and erected on the arm part 31. The rotor 20, the arm part 31 and the pin part 32 are arranged within the thickness B of the coil 40 in the direction of the shaft 52. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
