NANO ROD-SHAPED ZINC OXIDE POWDER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

A method for preparing nanorod-shaped zinc oxide powder is provided to mass-produce the zinc oxide powder having excellent catalytic activities in an economical and simple manner. A method for preparing nanorod-shaped zinc oxide powder includes: a dispersion step(S11) of adding a nano-sized zinc powder to water to prepare a first dispersion; an oxidation step(S15) of leaving the first dispersion alone under a temperature atmosphere of 30-70 °C for a predetermined time to form a zinc oxide precipitate; and a powder step(S16,S18) of filtering the resultant to obtain the precipitate, and drying the precipitate to prepare a first zinc oxide powder. Further, a diameter of the zinc powder is 1 to 500 nm, and the oxidation step is performed for 1 to 40 hrs.
