An apparatus for protecting an air circuit breaker is provided to block power supplied to a load by tripping the air circuit breaker when a fault current is supplied to the load. An apparatus for protecting an air circuit breaker includes at least one temperature detection unit(230-1,230-2), an MCU(Micro Controller Unit)(250), and a trip coil(260). The at least one temperature detection unit as a temperature sensor detects temperature of the air circuit breaker. The MCU determines malfunction of the air circuit breaker by comparing the temperature detected by the temperature detection unit with a predetermined reference temperature. The trip coil blocks power supplied to a load according to the determination of the MCU. |
