摘要 <p>An apparatus and a method for estimating location of a mobile station in a broadband wireless communication system are provided to estimate a location of the terminal station accurately without using an additional device by measuring the reception time referring the propagation delay time of a tag signal. A tag signal generator(201) outputs continuously the unique sequence granted for terminal identification by modulating the unique sequence as the bark code. A sub-carrier wave mapping device(203) maps the tag signal into a DC carrier wave. An OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) modulator(205) creates an OFDM symbol by converting the mapped signals into time region signals through the IFFT(Inverse Fast Fourier Transform) operation. A DAC(Digital to Analog Converter)(207) converts digital signals provided from the OFDM modulator into analog signals. An RF transmitter(209) converts base band signals provided from the DAC into RF band signals, amplifies the converted signals, and transmits the signals through an antenna.</p>
