<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a serial communication device for controlling a motor, capable of synchronously driving the motor, without causing deterioration of the servo properties of the motor, even when an abnormal condition occurs in communication line. <P>SOLUTION: Motor drive units 1209 to 120n are mutually connected serially with upper devices and transmit and receive data to drive the motors 1009. When a communication cable 1201 is broken, the uppermost motor drive unit 1209, to which a control command signal is not input from an upper control unit, outputs a synchronization signal for synchronizing the motor drive units 1209 to 120 n, rather than the upper control unit to synchronously drive the motors 1009 driven by the respective motor drive units. According to such a configuration, the respective motors are stopped synchronously or moved to the target positions, without deteriorating the servo properties, thereby achieving motor control excelling in safety. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
