PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact hinge mechanism capable of being easily and inexpensively manufactured with pressing work to embody high holding force. SOLUTION: The hinge mechanism has a hinge axial cross section formed in an approximately polygonal shape. The approximately polygonal shape is a square shape whose four corners are chamfered.
