PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction device for a vacuum cleaner which allows a user to easily install a second suction device on a first suction device in a standing attitude. SOLUTION: The suction device includes a first suction device for sucking dust on a surface to be cleaned by a suction port (not shown) provided in the bottom, a second suction device 10 having a function of similarly sucking dust on the surface to be cleaned and detachably installed on the first suction device 11 from above, and traveling rollers 36; and when the second suction device 10 is separated from the first suction device 11, locks the rotation of the rollers 36 by a locking lever 44 to regulate the movement of the first suction device 11 on the surface to be cleaned. When a user separates the second suction device 10 from the first suction device 11, executes the cleaning with the second suction device 10 and reinstalls the second suction device 10 on the first suction device 11, the first suction device 11 is regulated to move on the surface to be cleaned, so that the user can easily install the second suction device 10 on the first suction device 11.
