<p>An air conditioning system containing a cold storage unit with a porous matrix for taking up a cold storage medium with a melting point higher than that of the refrigerant is new. An air conditioning system (10) comprising a cold storage unit (12) with a porous cold storage matrix (38) for taking up a cold storage medium, a refrigeration circuit (14) for producing cold, a heat exchanger (16) for transferring the cold produced in the circuit into the storage unit (12), a cold storage casing (18) containing the heat exchanger and the storage unit which is at least partly embedded in a refrigerant (20) with a lower melting point than the cold storage medium, and a heat exchanger (22) in a cooling circuit (24) for transferring cold to the environment, this heat exchanger (22) being mounted outside the cold storage casing (18) through which a cold transport medium flows. An independent claim is included for a cold storage unit (12) as above for use in the system (10), which is also fitted with connections (30, 32, 309>1>, 329>1>, 34, 36) for connecting the cold storage unit to a cooling circuit.</p> |
