DRIVING METHOD FOR THREE DIMENSIONAL IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE

A method for driving a three dimensional image display device is provided to improve an image quality of a 2D image by suppressing an effect of a remaining 3D image. A display panel(100) includes plural unit pixels having plural sub-pixels. An image signal generator(200) supplies a 2D or 3D image signal to the respective sub-pixels. A calculator(400) calculates brightness for the respective sub-pixels corresponding to the 2D or 3D image signal. A brightness voltage generator(300) supplies signal voltages to the plural sub-pixels according to the calculated brightness. When the 3D image signal is converted to the 2D image signal, the calculator determines the brightness for the sub-pixel by using a reference mathematical expression based on the brightness for the plural sub-pixels in the unit pixel.
