<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved step applicable to manufacturing in a commercial scale that does not affect the formation of a backside field. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a photovoltaic cell includes a step that forms a first layer 15 containing a conduction type dopant opposite to a first dopant on the front surface of a semiconductor wafer 10 containing the first dopant, a step that forms trenches in the front surface after a step that a surface coating 30 is deposited in the front surface above the first layer and the surface coating is deposited, a step that dopes the trenches with the dopant having conduction opposite to the first dopant, a step that treats a backside of the wafer so as to at least substantially remove the entire dopant having conduction opposite to the first dopant, a step that forms a back electric contact 50 in the step forming the backside field 45 and above the backside, and a step that forms a front electric contact 40 by adding a conductive material to the trenches. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
