PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long member erecting and setting device of an excavator, which can erect a long member such as an excavating rod laid on the ground, and can connect the same to a rotation driving device, without using a truck crane. SOLUTION: The excavator vertically movably supports a rotation driving body inclusive of a rotation driving source via an erect mast, and connects the long member such as the excavating rod to the rotation driving body. The long member erecting and setting device of the excavator further supports the rotation driving body via a vertically moving surface with respect to the mast in a rotatable manner, and the rotation driving body has a cylinder body rotatably arranged therein, which has a through hole having both open edges, for detachably inserting therein the long member. Further the cylinder body has a chuck means arranged thereon, to which rotation is transmitted from the rotation driving source and which functions to connect the inserted long member to the cylinder body.
