A backlight unit and an LCD device having the same are provided to secure a working space for the assembly of an optical unit by a depressed portion formed in a side of a PCB, thereby improving assembly. A depressed portion is formed in a side of a PCB(Printed Circuit Board)(153) stepped shape. A pad portion is electrically connected to a wire(157) on the depressed portion. The depressed portion is formed in the manufacture process of the PCB to reduce the entire thickness of an optical unit as much as the thickness of the depressed portion and reduces a non-display area in which the optical unit is disposed. The wire is mounted on the pad portion and is soldered. A contraction tube(155) covers the soldered area(158). |
