PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a basal thermometer for controlling a volume of an alarm sound. SOLUTION: The basal thermometer comprises: a measurement means for measuring a body temperature, and outputting temperature measurement data; a display means; an announcement means for generating the alarm sound; and a control section for calculating a prediction value from the temperature measurement data, causing the display means to display the determined prediction value, and also causing the display means to display an actual measurement value when an actual measurement is completed. The control section controls the announcement means so as to differ the volume of the alarm sound generated when the prediction value is determined from the volume of the alarm sound when the actual measurement is completed.
